ABOUT US

An Engineering environment was my career for many years sat in front of a computer, counting the hours down until home time! Once home I would start upholstering one of my many pieces bought from local auctions, as well as going to college for my City & Guilds Design/Upholstery. I needed to gain more experience on a more commercial level so off I went to Wales to join Myra Cazalet and her upholstery workshop courses.

In 2002 I left my office job and set up ‘Originals Upholstery’, the name appropriate for my love of traditional upholstery. So mainly concentrating with the re-upholstery/refurbishment of period chairs, the work gradually progressed to modern upholstery, with clients asking for me to create bespoke pieces for their home ie headboards, footstools and lampshades. With the success of this the naturally progression was soft furnishings in which I started in 2006.

2010 was the completion of a Diploma in Interior Design, through The National Design Academy, another useful addition to my skill set, thus I re-named the business ‘Originals Interiors UK’.
